The Motherhood of God

In this compact book, Swami Brahmeshananda, a senior monk of the Ramakrishna Order, explores the impact of the Indian tradition of the Motherhood of God, looking upon God as mother, in the lives of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. Each one of them illustrate, in his or her own way, the Divine Motherhood in action.

The essays at first appeared in the various magazines of the Ramakrishna Math. The author, a former editor of The Vedanta Kesari, collects and presents facts that bring out the motherly love and boundless compassion that marked the lives of the Holy Trio. The book devotes one chapter each to Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda and four to the Holy Mother. The last chapter, Three-in-one, reveals how all three are one in radiating infinite love.
